I originally reviewed this car seat when buying it in the Night Owl color. I was disappointed to find that it was not the color it showed on my screen. It looked like it was navy and turquoise, but it was actually purple and turquoise. It would be better suited for a girl, not a boy. Despite being the wrong color when it arrived, the quality was amazing. The main fabric was dark purple with a dot pattern on it. I reordered the seat in Frisbee, and it was just as the picture showed. It’s a very bright blue with light blue accents. It isn’t the same fabric as the Night Owl, though. No dot pattern. I couldn’t be happier! I didn’t want a “blah” car seat or anything in a normal color, and this car seat definitely stands out. I have a very small car, and when I had the infant seat in my car, the passenger side was very cramped and uncomfortable for whoever was sitting there. When I put this seat in, I was very surprised to find that it added about 3 or 4 inches of extra room for the passenger– I expected it to take up even MORE room than the infant seat. My son is very comfortable in the seat. In the summer, I had no issues with it getting too hot. I know a lot of car seats have fabric that gets very hot, but this seat stays pretty cool and doesn’t make him sweat. The fabric breathes well. My only issue with it is the crotch strap. The padding behind it gets in the way when I try to strap him in and it’s a pain to move and lock everything into place. Other than that, it’s great. My son is 22 lbs, 31 inches and has PLENTY of leg room left to allow for extended rear-facing. He has chunky little legs and, despite other reviews, I haven’t had a problem with red marks on his legs at all. It’s a very roomy seat!
I took my car seat to the fire department to have it installed rear-facing. The man that installed it said it was absolutely THE hardest car seat to install that he’s come across in the hundreds he’s worked with. I do not have the LATCH system in my car. HOWEVER, he said it was without a doubt one of the SAFEST car seats he’s come across. Keep in mind, I have a very small 2-door car, so part of the problem during installation was the lack of space to work with when tightening it down. He put his knee in the seat and pulled the belt as tight as possible, and it doesn’t move at all when I turn corners.
Despite the rear-facing installation problems (mostly due to my car), I would recommend this car seat to anyone. I didn’t want to buy a cheap car seat, and I’m very happy I spent the extra money. It was worth it! I can’t wait to switch the seat to forward-facing and try out the AWESOME recline option. I’m now buying two more seats for the grandparents and only wish I could afford to buy two more of these!!

Avoid this crazy piece of crap. Cheaply made. Buttons are hard to push. The worst part was that I needed to adjust the height of the shoulder straps for my 2 year old. The directions are nearly unreadable with poor pictures and bad descriptions. I had to fiddle around with it for hours to figure it out. No help online either. Stay far away from this product. I’ve dealt with a dozen different car seats in my years as a father and this was crap.

Both we and our daughter loved the Maxi Cosi Mico. She would happily go into the Mico and fall asleep very quickly each time. Then we could hoist the Mico onto the Bugaboo adapter and keep her sleeping or bring the Mico into the house and let her keep sleeping after her car ride. Further, strapping the Mico into a new car was really easy and the Mico is incredibly light.
The bad… All of that went away with the Priori. Much of that just has to do with the fact that the Mico is an infant seat and this is a more permanent car seat. But our daughter (who’s 30″ long and 18lbs) just isn’t as comfortable. Her head isn’t as well supported and it doesn’t cradle her as well. Strapping the Priori into a vehicle without the anchor locks appears to be a real pain. Tightening down the straps seems harder and they aren’t as snug. Rethreading the straps as the child grows is much harder too. Cleaning the fabric seems like it will be a nightmare to pull everything off.
All that said, we’ve kept it and are happy with it. We haven’t tried another. The construction is solid, our daughter has gotten used to it and sleeps now, and overall it is highly functional.
I’m giving it 4 stars as it is a good solid seat and a purchase we’re happy with, but we were spoiled by the Mico!

Do not make the mistake of buying this seat without trying to install it first.
The instructions are useless and incomplete and the method used to secure the seat is dreadful.
First off, installing the seat in the rear facing position requires the use of a metal clip which is attached to the seat belt. The clip is hard to remove from its storage point and then hard to attached to the tight belts. It is then hard to store when not in use and would probably be lost or thrown through the nearest window out of frustration.
The attached belts that are not used when in the forward position just get in the way. The instructions tell you that they can be stored but 10 minutes with a customer service person still failed to explain how to do this.
Installing in the front position is just as hard. There are no instructions about how to replace the top belt which you will by now removed (because its in the way). Customer service will explain how it fits as it is not really obvious.
All in all I think that installing a car seat should be obvious and completely fool proof. If the design is good, instructions should really be superfluous. This seat fails on all fronts.
Once the seat is installed, it is comfortable and secure. The belt design is good and our son has not been able to undo the buckle or get out.
