So….I’ve had this car seat for about 7 months now, and there are a few things that bug me:
-The buckle for the seat belt weighs very heavily on the crotch area of the child. I think this is bad for a boy, no?
-All the comfortable extra padding that you see in the pictures has to be taken out once your child reaches a certain (low) weight. I didn’t use them once. The seat minus the extra padding is not very comfortable. The Britax Marathon that I have has so much more (usable) cushioning.
-The seat is so tall that, when installed rear-facing, would push the front seat so far forward as to be very uncomfortable. And I’m talking about the backseat of a mid-sized sedan. Plus, the headrest can only be removed when very small babies are in tow. Which means that for the most part of your child’s rear-facing journeys, the headrest will have to be on, again, making no room for a person to sit in the front comfortably. It might fit in your middle backseat if the two front seats are not pushed too far back.
-The seat is so wide/large that it is hard for a child to fall asleep since there is no place for them to rest their head. It’s not bad when the seat is reclined, but as children get older they don’t want to sit so reclined. I have to roll up a shirt to put next to my child’s head when he is sleeping so that his neck doesn’t look so uncomfortable.
-The seat is low and doesn’t have a base, which means your rear-facing infant will have absolutely no view, except of the sky – boring. The upside is that once the child is forward-facing, they can climb into the seat without difficulty. But how long will the child have to wait til they can see out the window? If you have a minivan or some kind of car with elevated seats and low windows, this might not be such an issue.
All in all, I wish I had bought 2 Britax carseats and skipped on this one.

I have an SUV & this thing barely fits, plus nobody can sit in the passenger seat anymore. It is so large & bulky. I bought it because of the safety ratings, I should have just gotten the infant seat. It is next to impossible to tighten & loosen the straps when it is rear facing. It takes up so much room, doesn’t provide any shade from the sun, the buckle is so hard to push in to release the straps, and it is such a dark color that I think it will be hot in the summer (why don’t they actually sell the lighter colors anywhere???)
I would like to return the seat after trying to install it, but it states that only unopened items can be returned, if I knew it was going to be so user Unfriendly I would never have purchased it. Although the NHTSA gave my other carseat three stars, it seems better to me because it actually fits & I can actually tighten & loosen what I need to.

After doing a lot of research we wanted to keep our son rear-facing as long as possible. We decided on this seat and couldn’t be happier. And the best part is that our son loves it.

This seat is great. My son is large for his age (almost 20 lbs at 19 weeks) so he didn’t fit in infant car seats comfortably. This seat is perfect for him. It’s very well padded and he just seems so much more secure. It is very easy to adjust the shoulder straps and the rebound protector really does secure the seat much more than without. This also arrived a lot sooner than expected! It is really large and heavy though.

It took me a time to find a great convertible car seat for my boy. He loves spent time in this comfortable , cozy seat. He is almost 11 month and we are planning to keep this seat rear facing as long as possible. The seat is very wide and tall, its perfect for my big boy( was born 10.9 lb)and high enough for him to look though the window.
It was a great purchase and price( it was on sale).
I would highly recommend this car seat.
