This is a piece of garbage. once you get it under the chair, you can’t scoot the chair up to the table. if you want to use it as a booster “when needed” it’s very clumsy, spring loaded, breakable (cheap plastic breaks) and it’s too much of a pain to put under the chair and take away. so if you buy this, plan to use it as a permanent fixture under your chair, scooted all the way up to the table, because it is virtually un-moveable once you get it in place. a real pain in the neck. oh, and it’s not portable. (as in, if you’re traveling) it’s very big and bulky when folded and doesn’t stay folded. it’s huge. if you packed this on a carry-on (on an airplane) you wouldn’t have much room for anything else, so it’s not meant to be portable. overall, it’s a piece of junk. Great concept though. would be nice if it worked.

  2. If we had a regular sized table and chairs this would have been ideal for both of my kids but we have the newer bar height chairs. We tried it anyway despite that the directions IN the box (not on the box) said not to. In the first 10 minutes, my 3 year old barely moved the chair, and it toppled over and the kaboost snapped really lowdly. Scared my kids to death and the chair could have hurt someone, so don’t use it for bar heighth chairs. Of course, this was our fault, but I wished they would have printed something on the outside of the box so we didn’t have to make a trip to return it. Great idea though!

My 3.5 year old has had a Kaboost for a year, and my 2 year old daughter got hers a couple of months ago. They can sit right at the table with no highchair, making them feel ‘big’. You will need to teach them about not wiggling, which is a tendency, because they are ‘free’ to move. In the beginning, they may need help getting on and off the chair, but give them time to figure it out on their own.

This is a good transition to a big chair. The springs are strong, so you may need a ‘third hand’ installing it on your chair. You CANNOT use this on folding chairs – it will snap the chair closed.

I have had two of these boosters for almost 2 years now and am going to buy my third. I have a 5 year old, a three year old and 18 month child. All three love the kaboost. Yes, it cannot “scoot” across the floor when installed. You have to give your child some assistance to move the chair, but I consider this one of its positive attributes.

My children love to move chairs around the house to climb and get into things. The kaboost chairs are too awkward for them to move around so it has made life easier for me!

I am surprised that others have felt that they are cheap plastic and have found parts to break. I tend to leave them on the chairs and have had no problem with them. I do think they can be removed quickly, but I have no reason to remove them on a regular basis.

The chocolate color blends in nicely with our dining set. Visitors are often surprised to sit down to the table and accidentally sit in one of the “high” chairs.

I highly recommend these as an alternative to a traditional booster. You will use them for years!

We just purchased our second Kaboost so that our 20-month-old could have one as well as our 4-year-old. This is just such a fabulous product. It’s great for when your child starts to resist sitting in a highchair or booster seat, and then it lasts for as long as your child needs the extra seat height. There are two different height settings, so you can have it higher or lower depending on your needs. It’s also very sturdy.
