We have two other Britax seats that have been fine, but this one is a problem. I HAVE read the manual. The problem is in design. The straps that hold this seat onto the latch bars work ok if you can get at them. The problem is that they get twisted and they get stuck inside the seat. If you have to regularly take this seat in and out of your vehicle, forget it. BAD DESIGN!

Today I had visions of strapping the designer of this seat into it and kicking him off a cliff.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this at all costs.

It absolutely does NOT fit in a Honda Odyssey. I have since read another review here and I will confirm what they said: it does not fit in the single seats (row behind the driver).

I’m now going to buy the Graco Nautilus – fingers crossed.

This is a great carseat if you are always always going to use the latch system. However, the latch belt is not connected to the carseat. We found this out the hard way when traveling by air and received our carseat without a latch belt! It fell off in transit and now the seat is essentially useless because Britax DOES NOT replace the latch belts! ! !! This is the most useless and unsafe carseat when used with a lap belt so do not, I repeat do not buy this carseat if you will ever encounter a time when there is no latch system in the car. We couldn’t use the latch system in our airport shuttle nor in the rental car at our destination. We tried repeatedly to use the lap belt according to manufacturer instructions and the seat moves at least 3″ from side to side. I strongly recommend buying another seat!

  4. I have kind of unusual situation. I am the size of an eight year old. And by law I am supposed to be in a car seat with a five point harness. I shopped around but was not impressed. They were either to flimsy or didn’t fit right. So one day I was looking at babies r us and found this incredible car seat. I tried it out, and it was perfect. Harness and all. I highly recommend this car seat to every parent. Weather you have a child or a very small adult that’s the size of a child.

  5. This was my second Britax seat (I was very happy with my first, the Roundabout) and recall or no recall I would highly recommend that you don’t buy this seat. You will not be happy with it. I found it very difficult to install and also very difficult to buckle my son into. The straps get twisted and the metal clips that clip into the buckle get lost at the bottom of the seat. I just returned the Frontier and purchased the Boulevard instead and absolutely love it, it’s much easier to use.
